In this study, some novel 5-(4-chlorobenzyl)-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol derivatives were synthesized starting from 4-amino-3-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole (1). The structures of the synthesized compounds were clarified using IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, elemental analyses and mass spectral techniques. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial and anti-lipase inhibitory activities. Among the tested substances, compounds 3, 8c, 8d, 8e and 9d exhibited good activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Furthermore, all the synthesized compounds were investigated with regard to pancreatic lipase inhibition activity, and compounds 5e, 8b, and 9b showed a considerable anti-lipase activity at various concentrations.
