The new organic reallents, bis(furfural) ethylenediimine, 2,3-bis(2-furyl)-5,6-dihydropyrazine and 2,3-bis(2-furyl) pyrazine have been prepared by simple synthetic routine. The rellBents are characterized with the aid of I.R., U.V and mass spectrometry. The reactions of the reagents towards Cu(lO, Cu{O, Fe(II), Fe(IIO, Co(m, N.i(IO have been studied spectrophotometrically. The molar absorptivities at their i\-max are reported. The complexes are weakly coloured and rate of complex formation is slow. The complexes failed to extract in chloroform.
