Thermococcus profmdus is a strictly anaerobic sulfur dependent archaeon that grows optimally at 80 °C by a femtentative type metabolism. During long complicated purification process, I ferredoxin linked archael oxidoreductases loose much activity. Herein we report for the purification of a thermostable enzyme indolepyruvate ferredoxin oxidoreductase (IOR) from 7` prohmdus by developing an effective technique of affinity chromatography. The native enzyme was purified 74- V fold with a specific activity of 87 U/ mg.
