The geminal anisochronism of the isobutyl groups indicate that the aryl ring is twisted out of the imino plane leading to a chiral conformation. Barriers to rotation around the aryl-imino bond were found by dynamic NMR to lie in the range 16.9-17.9 kcal mol-1
