An awareness of the protective role of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid against development of cardiovascular disease has prompted the promotion of fish consumption. The total fat and fatty acid compositional data are reported for ladyfish, dother. sua, sole. aal and khagga marine species of fish that are found in coastal waters of Pakistan and are consumed locally. This information may be useful to consumers and health care professionals.
