Thermogravimetl)'(TG) and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) of Z-(Z"-pyridyl)selenonaphthene (Z-PSel\') and Z-(4- pyridyl)selenonaphthene(4-PSe!'\) prepared by the reactions of selenium dioxide and 2- and 4-stilbazole were recorded. Both of the seleno-derivatives are fairly volatile and loss in weight is almost quantitative upto 3OO0C. The selenonaphthenes are easily eluted on stainless steel OVIOI, 3% on chromosorb column at 2(XPC. The effects of heating time and ~empel'ature on the formation of seleno-del'ivatives are reported.
