Twenty new C-Mannich bases of N-{e-methoxy-4-hydroxy)-benzylidene-substituted diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid hydrazides have been synthesised from different primary aromatic amines and various N-{3-methoxy-4-hydroxy)benzylidene substituted-diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid hydrazides, synthesised from substituted diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid hydrazides and vanillin, in the presence of formalin under Mannich conditions for the evaluation of their antibacterial and antiviral activities.
