The exchange behaviour and the pH dependence on adsorption of first transition series metal ions have been studied over hydrous chromium oxide (HCO). The metal ions Mn(II), Fe(II), Cu(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) were separated from one another over HCO column using buffers of pH 3, 4.5, 5 and 6.
